EQUINOX OUTDOOR LEARNING

Equinox Outdoor Learning is an alternative education provision based at Gorse Hill City Farm, which has been open since June 2021.

The provision is run by a qualified primary school teacher and an experienced forest school practitioner, both of whom have extensive experience of working with children and young adults within specialist provisions.

We follow a child led, hands on learning approach, bespoke to the individual learners needs, with a focus on nature, animal care, well- being, team building and life skills.

We offer places for children, from 6-14 years old, with a variety of individual needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and ESBA. Referrals can come to via schools, parents and/or the local authority.

Our sessions include animal care, farm duties, foraging, whittling, outdoor cooking, team building activities, arts and crafts with natural resources as well as looking after the gardens and growing our own food.

We are now AQA registered so our students can earn certificates linked to the activities we undertake and use these for their record of achievements and to help them get into college.

Opening days and times:
Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am - 2pm.

Please email us for a full price list with options including 1:1 support.

“Keep your children wild, don’t make them grow up too fast. Let them spend their days in the sunshine using their imagination. They are the change! Those wild children daydreaming in the sunshine will grow into grounded adults with minds and spirits capable of creating a better future.”
